We provide our clients with comprehensive legal advice at all stages of resolving their commercial disputes in various areas of their business activities.
Our lawyers have conducted dozens of Czech and international arbitrations under various arbitration rules before a number of institutions, in ad hoc proceedings (e.g. under UNCITRAL rules) and in sports cases. In the Czech Republic, these include primarily the Arbitration Court attached to the Economic Chamber of the Czech Republic and the Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic and the International Arbitration Court in Prague attached to the Czech Moravian Commodity Exchange Kladno (PRIAC). Foreign institutions include, for example, the International Court of Arbitration at the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris (ICC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the Arbitration Court at the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce (SCC) or the Vienna International Arbitration Court (VIAC), as well as the Swiss Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS).
We assist clients with the review of arbitration clauses and the preparation of structured arbitration agreements, in proceedings for the annulment of arbitral awards, and in the recognition and enforcement of foreign court judgments and arbitral awards in the Czech Republic, as well as Czech judgments and awards in the Czech Republic and abroad.
In the area of investment protection, our services include legal advice on structuring businesses to secure the benefits of investment promotion and protection agreements (BITs), assessing potential claims for breach of such agreements, and representing investors in related investment arbitrations.
Some of our lawyers also act as arbitrators and have decided dozens of cases in this role, including sports arbitrations (FAČR). They also act as experts in Czech substantive and procedural law and are active in a number of professional associations (e.g., ArbCEE – Arbitration Association of Central and Eastern Europe, CZIPRA – Czech Institute for the Popularization and Revitalization of Arbitration, ICC International Arbitration Commission Czech Republic, and YCAP – Young Czech Arbitration Professionals).
