Sports law

We provide comprehensive legal advice in the field of sports law. We assist clients with the assessment, preparation, or modification of player and similar contracts for the performance of sports activities, coaching and agency contracts, or sponsorship and marketing contracts.

We provide legal assistance with the day-to-day operations and management of sports clubs and associations (federations and associations). This agenda covers a wide range of activities, from drafting or revising statutes and other internal regulations, to support with domestic and international transfers, intellectual property protection, trademark use, merchandising, and subsidy matters.

We have extensive experience in representing clients in all stages and types of disputes in the field of sports. Typically, these include lawsuits to invalidate decisions of association bodies, other judicial, administrative, or arbitration proceedings, as well as international sports arbitration, including proceedings before the Swiss Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS). We also represent athletes and clubs in disciplinary proceedings and doping cases.

Our lawyers have worked for many years within the Czech Football Association (FAČR) – formerly as referees (members of the Referees’ Committee) and currently within the Appeals Committee.

Our clients have included and continue to include major sports federations and associations and their service organizations, various professional and amateur sports clubs, athletes, and their agents.
